questionnaire results
In response to our results from our questionnaire, we have created some graphs to help show the results a bit clearer - showing the most and least popular in some cases.
In the chart above we found out that the average age that watched music videos were between the ages 15 to 19 years old. We expected this as music videos are stereotypically more commonly watched by teenagers than any other age group. This result helped us set a target audience age of teenagers between the ages 15 and 19 for our music video in order to meet the demand for new videos by this audience.
In the chart above, we found out that indie music was most common within the age group that we found out about earlier in the blog. This has helped us develop our ideas on what song to use and have started to look at more songs in this genre due to the demand of new videos in this genre.
In this question, we were able to establish what would be shown in the video by the likes and dislikes of the participants of the questionnaire. The results from this question showed us that we needed to combine elements of a storyline and live clips together in order to produce a successful music video. In many cases, this question was explained in more detail in the last question of the questionnaire about their own favourite music video.
This question was purely for our own knowledge about music videos as we wanted to find out where everybody watches their music videos from. In this result, we found that music channels are more popular to watch music videos on than any other source. We think that this is due to music channels being easily accessable to audiences.
Overall, by several participants completing the questionnaire, we were able to establish a few of the starting points in planning our music video such as genre of the music and also establishing what audience it would reach. This information will help us with our planning as well as having completed some more of our research for this coursework.
